Why take part?
FeelYourSelfie concept is all about encouraging women of all ages to check their breasts on a regular basis. The three finger salute is symbolic in that three fingers are required in order to effectively perform a self breast examination. Regular checking will increase early detection, should an abnormality arise, which in turn will lead to a much more positive treatment outcome.
The FeelYourSelfie Campaign was created to raise awareness of breast health amongst younger women predominantly, because what becomes routine today could ultimately save their lives in years to come. Awareness will increase survival rates and help save lives.
The campaign seeks to take the Fear Factor away from women checking their breasts regularly, by educating them as to how to perform their own self examination and outlining symptoms to consider. Breast Cancer Ireland have developed a free to download app “Breast Aware” that will offer a discreet monthly reminder to your phone and also a simulated video guide on how to perform a self examination properly
